This is a London Transport enamel bus stop 'e' plate for Route '197A Mon.-Fri.'.

The plate is approximately 130mm wide x 125mm deep and weights around 250g.

Route 197A was introduced in 1970 and ran on Mondays to Fridays between Norwood Junction and Thornton Heath Garage via Woodside Green, Morland Road, Lower Addiscombe Road, Landsdowne Road, East Croydon, Croydon and London Road, extended during peak hours to Thornton Heath (High Street). In 1973 it was converted to one-man-operation and diverted via Cherry Orchard Road instead of Landsdowne Road. The route was withdrawn in 1978.

The 'e' plate is in very good condition with just a little surface marking (see photo).
