Frost is depressed and on leave, but is dragged back to work to investigate the unsettling death of a hospital porter. He soon finds himself in the middle of a tangled web of crime, involving an art robbery and a mysterious old case that he could never solve.
Lester Bryce-Jones is found hanged in his plush apartment, and DI Frost suspects foul play. As he and his team dig deeper into Bryce-Jones' mysterious life, they are drawn back to old police investigations, and Frost faces a race against time to solve crimes from both the past and the present.
