A London Transport enamel bus stop 'Q' plate from Bromley, Market Square: Queue This Side For B1 Queue other Side For 227.
Route B1 ran between Eltham Church and Bromley North Station via New Eltham and Elmstead Woods. During rush hours the service ran via Logs Hill to Bickley Station instead of Bromley. The B1 was one of the first four experimental routes that were introduced using 16-seater minibuses which could serve new areas that larger buses could not reach.
Route 227 ran daily from Crystal Palace to Chislehurst (Gordon Arms) via Beckenham, Shortlands, Bromley and Bickley, SMS operated from 1971. In 1972 it was extended on Saturdays from Chislehurst to Eltham (Well Hall Station) via Green Lane and New Eltham, but cut back again to Chislehurst in 1974.
The plate is approximately 410mm wide x 125mm deep and weighs around 510g.
The plate is in excellent condition with just a small chip at the top left corner and a few surface marks (see photo).
